Cavitation Tunnel Educational Towing .
Cavitation Tunnel:
As a standard measuring section for a Cavitation Tunnel
we offer, as desired by a customer, either a measuring section 57cm x
57cm or a measuring section 50cm x 50cm 1B). In most cases the speed
reached in measuring section is sufficiently high and the cavitation
number, which can be reached in this measuring section, is already
sufficiently low so that for most customers a circuit with measuring
section appears to be advisable. In case, however, higher speeds and
lower cavitation numbers are desired, we recommend the measuring section
Technical Data of DIDAC Cavitation Tunnel:
- The main data of Cavitation Tunnel, with measuring sections is as follows:
- 57cm x 57cm
- Contraction ratio of the nozzle, approx. 4.6 : 1
- Maximum velocity of the water in the measuring section, approx. 8.5 m/s
- Cavitation number adjustable in a wide range down to below: 0.25
- 50cm x 50cm
- Contraction ratio of the nozzle, approx. 6 : 1
- Maximum velocity of the water in the measuring section, approx. 11 m/s
- Cavitation number adjustable in a wide range down to below: 0.2
- The following data is identical with both measuring sections 1A and 1B:
- Pressure
regulation form relatively high vacuum to above atmospheric pressure
measured at the pressure regulation container – 1 bar Approx.
- Centre to centre length between the two vertical parts of the tunnel – 8.15 m
- Centre to centre height between the horizontal parts of the tunnel – 5.5 m
